OVER 100 YEARS OF INNOVATION IN EYE CARE
The beginning of Santen traces back to 1890 in Kitahama Osaka, with the founding of a private firm named Taguchi Santendo. The Company’s first eye drop, Daigaku Eye Drops, was launched in 1899. The first plastic eye drop container in Japan was launched by the Company in 1962. Since then, Santen has become an established leader in the Asian and European prescription ophthalmology marketplaces and continues to expand across global markets.
